The Kenya fairy wrasse, Cirrhilabrus sp.3 is yet another never before seen species of exotic reef fish to get widely documented at Greenwich Aquaria before anywhere else in the country. Somewhat resembling Cirrhilabrus rubriventralis, the Kenya fairy wrasse also sports some of the yellow and white ventral coloration that is also seen in Cirrhilabrus naokoae.

Jason Edward of Greenwich Aquaria found the Kenya fairy wrasse in a shipment of fish from Kenya, and he passed along some pictures of what this young male looks like now – can you imagine how vivid this guy could become if he flashes like the Naoko’s fairy wrasse in Kevin’s video? Holy moley, good thing that Jason’s going to be holding onto his Kenya fairy wrasse, at least for a little while.
