Nice DSB information

Very nice information.

The problem with us Jozi guys is that we don't have access to sand as fine as what is mentioned.

Some generous coastal guys must send us some sand from the ocean....

We need to set up a sand swapping club too. A handful of sand from someone else's system does wonders for adding bio diversity.
I think the next DRC meeting everyone needs to bring some sand along..

Been saying this for months now. Choose a standard size (250ml for instance) and everyone brings that much.

I think someone has to drive down in August for the conferance and take a bakkie with a trailer to bring it all back ;)

I will be even more than willing to buy it from that person.

Ok, I know this is an old thread, but it's got pretty much everything in it that I was looking for.

It looks like I will be getting another tank very soon, measurements are 150cm*45cm*45cm and I would really like to put a DSB in the main display instead of in the sump. Does anyone have any pictures of this?

From what I've read, the depth should be between 10cm and 15cm.

What would you guys recommend I use?

AWESOME link - first time I see this thread too Sparky!
Sparky - I have natural sea sand, as well as some "play sand" (in my sump - very fine - sugar fine).

I believe in having 12cm to 15cm DSB. I see that Puppy has an even deeper DSB - about 22cm deep in his sump....

Sparky, some guys use playsand, myself included. It's so cheap it's almost free.

Yep, most toy stores.

Just wash it very very well with tap water.
