WELCOME to MASA, and to this great hobby.

Tell us more about what you plan to keep, and we will gladly advise on the equipment. In fact, there are quite a few members in CT who will gladly go and spend your money with you :whistling:

hello Quaser, welcome to MASA and to the facinating world of salty things:)

starting out can be great fun, but a little daunting too, especially as reefers often use a lingo all of their own and hearing someone say that the LFS has great LR, killer SPS and nano goby's for sale, all sounds cool round a braai as everyone else is excluded from the confersation and thinks you are the next einstein, but unless you actually know whats going on , its rather daunting :)

so if you wanna start out in marines theres LOADS to learn, lots to plan and even more to ask. Its the asking of questions on here thats your best move at the moment. Thats anything. Simple things like "what size tank do you think i should get, and is R19000 for a complete new nano good value" all the way to the complex things of water parameters, lighting equipment and what a DOC skimmer is, indeed do you need one and are they worth spending hard earned money on?? (the answer is YES to that last question by the way! :))

Masa has some great reefers from all over the world and a passion for marines seldom found and shared on other web sites. That means that the advice is fast, friendly and free!:) Use masa for all your planning so that we can help you overcome the small pitfalls that will make the difference between a VERY expensive hobby and a successful reef tank:)

    welcome and happy postings:)
