Hi Jumboswart and welcome to MASA!

Nice start you and your son have! Can I convince you both to rearrange your rock so that it is away from the front glass, stacked a little higher with space in between so that the flow can get through, keeping things moving? You want to avoid what we call "dead" spots.

What do you plan to keep?

Welcome to MASA!! Yip, I agree with Anemone, try and give the scaping a little more attention, the rocks are to evenly spread out..

And tell us more about the system?

The photos are about 2 weeks old, I have done water changes and moved the rocks piled into the left hand corner( will post more pics tomorrow). My son has 1 percula, 1 yellow tail damsel, 1 cleaner and 1 red shrimp, blue legged hermit and 2 turbo snails. My tank has 1 maroon clown, 1 orange tail blue damsel, 1 hermit crab and 1 cleaner shrimp.

Thinking of making mine a predator tank with a snowflake eel and fu manchu lionfish

Your tank is much too small for a predator tank. These fish will not do well long term in this size tank, and it is not fair to the animals. Spend some time researching each animal before purchasing.

Welcome to MASA, glad you guys joined. Not sure about your experience in marines, but if new, please read the link in my signature for some great info.
Don't want to be the bearer of bad news, but the Aqua H20 tanks does not have a good reputation. A lot of them just burst, right on the corners. There is actually a thread on MASA about it.
