    Hi All,

I have been in this hobby for about 5 weeks now and still have a hell of a lot to learn :p. I have some really great mentors helping me as I go along and nothing I typed here would have made any sense to me if it weren't for them.

I currently have a Nano Boyu TL-450 marine tank. Not much done to it yet, removed all the sponges in the first chamber, removed ceramic rings and bio-bals in the last chamber, these where replaced with Granular Activated Carbon and some Live Rock Rubble. For flow in the tank I have added a SEIO Prop 320 1200 l/ph (thinking off adding another as this only creates 24 x turnover an hour), and a smaller power head directed to create flow under the LR.

The ceramic rock has been removed since.

I had the following readings last week Saturday, indicating the cycle has not completed yet, currently I am only treating PO4 remover as I had a bit of hair algae on one Live rock, seems to be subsiding a bit.

    Ammonia: 0.0mg/l
    Nitrite: 0.3mg/l
    Nitrate: 25mg/l
    CA: 380 ppm
    MG: 1080 ppm
    kH: 9°

Once all test "0" i will do 50% water change and let stand another week. Thereafter test again.

I still need to add about 4 kg of cured LR to continue with the scaping, this to me is the most difficult part, as I cannot seem to make my mind up. (I will post some picks as soon as I get home.)

I haven't seen any coralline algae growth yet except for on the LR, but I'm sure this will still take some time to spread from the LR.

Further to this I am planning a larger tank, still deciding between rectangular ( 1500 x 500 x 650) with C2C and overflow box placed center back, or a cube (1000 x 1000 x 650) with overflow box placed dead center.

I'm sure the most changes and "great" things will happen as soon as the cycle completes.

Not too sure on plans yet, have to do some mods though.. Put some pc fans in, temp a bit high a 27°C. Lighting should be fine for softies though. Thinking maybe blenny, a cleaner shrimp and a few snails, would love to have a mandarin but these seem to want a very well matured tank.
