    Hi Guys

I am new to this forum and am planning a reef setup. Any advice and input will be appreciated. The tank will be 1800mm long X 800mm deep and 600mm high. The whole back length of the tank will be an overflow 130mm wide, thus reducing the depth of the tank to ± 650mm. The overflow will have two 50mm pipes (back corners) down to the left back of the sump. The hole in the middle is 25mm going to the right back of the sump.

The sump has 4 chambers: Left one is inlet from tank and also houses the skimmer, next chamber is the return sump. Next to that will be a DSB and on the far right is the inlet from the tank that feeds the DSB. The sump size is 1200mm long, 600mm deep and 500mm high.

Any advice before I start buying and cutting the glass? O yes, the tank glass will be 12mm and the sump 6mm.

Thanks a lot - will post the drawing next

That is one great looking tank. What are you going do to hide the overfloe section from the tank, or is it going be viewed from the tank.

    Thanks for the welcome Warr

I plan to put light blue PVC against it as well as paint the two ends the same colour

Have you thought of a closed loop ? Well worth it especially if making this tank yourself

Yes, I actually have. Thinking of drilling two holes on each side of the tank - sucking from the back two and returning via the front two at an angle towards the opposite corner.

I also plan to have the return from the sump end in a closed loop with 8 outlets at the top of the tank.

A very WARM welcome to MASA Paulus! AWESOME tank design that, mate!

Looking forward to seeing this becoming a reality. What skimmer, lighting and in-tank power-heads/pumps are you planning to use?

Thanks for the warm welcome guys!

Would a CLS like below work?

I will still draw the return loop.

Skimmer, pumps, etc I will leave up to you experts to advise.

sure a CLS will work.why not drill you CLS outlets at the base and use 45 degree elbows to focus in different directions
