newbie intro

    Hi All

    this is my 2nd take on running a successful marine aquarium. First attempt was many years ago. A lot has changed since!!! Tank is running for 6 months now, but was taken over from a fellow hobbyist where it ran for a number of years - initially used 70% of the water from the previous guy just to limit shock to livestock that came with the tank. When I got the tank all corals were looking pale (although healthy). I've seen a considerable change within the first few months. Most of the corals coloured up very nicely

    Hoping to keep a lot more SPS's in future.:blush:

    Setup:
    Tank: 1,5m x 600 x 600
    Sump: same as above
    Lighting: 2 x Ecotech Radion G3 Pro
    Flow: 2 x Hydor Korallia Magnum
    Skimmer: Reef Octopus Internal 5000
    Biopellet reactor
    Running activated carbon

    Calcium: 480
    Magnesium: 1470
    Alkalinity: 9,4
    Phosphate: 0

    Thanks guys. Hoping to learn a lot from you. I've seen some jaw-dropping tanks here. Must be one of the hobbies with the most challenging aspects, but also the most rewarding :thumbup:. Nothing beats a well stocked/ well maintained tank
