Hi all this is my first marine tank , it's a magic wave 102 that I have modified to have a sump of around 150-200 l . My first question is is it still a nano tank if the whole system is 250-300l the next question I have is how long should I have the system up and running for before I can put livestock in considering all the live rock and some of the sand and filter material came from a well established tank here are some pics of my setup so far ImageUploadedByTapatalk1407956695.022864.jpg ImageUploadedByTapatalk1407956723.206595.jpg ImageUploadedByTapatalk1407956744.341291.jpg will post more pics shortly

Yes I would like lots of corals and inverts I know the corals need a wel established tank so I will give it a few months before I put in corals

I would replace the bio balls and ceramic rings with Seachem Matrix and Macro Algea. Other options would be live rock or DSB.
Ceramic rings and bio balls are nitrate traps. Fine for FOWLR, but not so good for reef aquariums.

Tell us about your future plans and live stock you are planing.

You have done very well equipment wise. ;)

Would it be best to remove them all together or just add seachem matrix because I have a spare canister filter I can put the matrix in I have always been under the impression the more filtration the better

as long as you clean out detritus settlement within the ceramic rings monthly. Matrix can work in a canister. Alternative is to use the space you got the ceramic rings for the Matrix.
