Hi

My name is Ryan, very new to the entire hobby. Intending to buy a tank in a month or two's time, probably around 500L. At the moment busy researching day and night, so desparate for any advice.

A very WARM WELCOME to MASA Ryan! Great to have you on-board! Please read up as many of the other "New Members" threads as you can. There you will find MANY questions asked and answered.

And a LOT of other advice. Good luck with your journey into marines!

Please ask as much questions as it takes for you to become a successful reefkeeper!

Also have a look at the tanks in our "Members tanks and setups" - see if there is any example that you would like to emulate. Then ask questions around this.

Also, have a look in our MASAPedia - there is an article on starting Marines - are good to to read through!

hey Ryan,
welcome to MASA. Marines certainly are a sharp learning curve when you start out and there is lots to learn, but soon you'll start understanding what people mean when they use abreviations and then you will catch up very fast:)

Jacques had it right when he said read through some of the beginners tank threads and have a look at what more experienced guys achieve, that way you will avoide some of the stupid things we all do (dropping metal halide lights into tanks is probably a good one to avoide) and in so doing you will gain from our collective experience.

Read, dread, ask questions and follow advice MASA will see you and your tank through your cycle and into the wonderful world of marines.

welcome to the ride of your life:)
