Lol im a gadget man, and it is hard to hear that I should wait first LOLOK I see... I don't think the pellets took effect yet. They usually take a bit of time to get going. But in any case if they do get going they will probably strip no3 faster than phos. That's what I experienced when I still used them. And I don't know if it is. But the reactor should preferably be on backup for power outages. Unless you want the bacteria to die and then you start over... Lol
I'm a chemical lazy guy. The way I started my tank is still the way I run it today. I just had to find ways to make it work. It's amazing what one can achieve with chemicals... Lol

How long will it take for the bacteria to die off?
I'm keen on a backup battery set for the tank. But have no idea where to start. Any good literature?
