Good afternoon everyone. I'm new to MASA. i've been waiting a while with the fisrt post because i first wanted to read what others say about nano tanks and stuff like that, and to get my system running. my tank is a bit small i suppose, only a 55L nano Boyu complete with skimmer and all the things needed. only extra that i have on is a cascade canaster filter as i dont trust the the filter system built into the tank itself.

here is some shots i took with my phone. sorry if they are a bit small

Hi and welcome to MASA. You say that you have started your tank 2 days ago, you should rather wait about 4 to 6 weeks before adding any fish or corals. Your tank needs to finish cycling first. I would also get a bit more live rock. Dont worry here is alot of people with alot of good advice, also go through the forums section for tips and reading info.

thanx man. no i started it yesterday. the pieces of live rock that i have i got from a friend. at the moment money is playing an issue, so adding more LR will have to wait unfortunitely. but i will get there.

    not alone

    Hi
My name is Kevin - I have spent the last few days hunting for a great big fancy tank to start me off - only to be flattened by the realisation that my 100 year old floors won't hold the big tanks - so suddenly I am keen on a nano setup
Hoping there is some second hand stuff or live tank to relieve someone of
    Guidance would be really great
    Thanks
    Kev

welcome to masa, great to haqve ypou join:)

55l tank is a sweet little fella to start off on, great to get some practice and some pacients before converting your 4 foot over. I see a few new corals in a fairly new tank (a week old I think?) so just take it slow, there really is no advantage and many disadvantages to putting things in too soon.

try for around 5kg of LR, maybe a little more if you build some caves and can scape it high enough in the tank, good quality LR in a tank this size will stand you in very good stead over the long run:) Best of luck with the rest of the cycle

hi thanx @crispin. my tank is actually in the 3rd week of cycling. got about 8kg of LR in. ive been treating the water with seachem prime to to neutralize things like ammonia, nitrites and nitrates. also have some macro algae in the tank to also help combat nitrates. everything in the tank looks happy.
