New to marine and masa

Tell me chaps this tank is growing all funny stuff now, overnight. There is brown - pink - purple - violet - green stuff growing everywhere. some of the greens have leaves like flowers, one has tube like stuff with holes. the pink and purple is growing on the live rock (this live rock looks like big chunks of dead coral) i guess this would be algae. There is signs of life as there is some tiny white goggas starting to swim around with legs and fealers.
Tell me which algae is good and which ones are bad, how does one control this.
The white filter material is turning brown as well, and do i take them out and rinse them now or replace them.

You bet shaun

I have downloaded some pics so have a look and see, tell me how will i improve the sump

The pics are there

Nice setup, but we need to make some changes to the sump.

Thx for the Pic's
Pleasure
I put the pics of the sump so the experts like you can sort the sump out

So any suggestions

Well that is what my LFS stocks and he says he never had problems

Looking great Max.
I would ditch all those ceramic rings you got in the sump.
Simple sump setup.
Chamber1. Over flow from tank with skimmer
Chamber2. DSB
Chamber3. Return pump to tank aswell as Carbon and phophate remover can be run there.
I see you got a UV hooked up.Do you run it 24/7?

Dude you also got slamed by your LFS.

Allot of changes need to be done to your sump:

1: get rid of any filter wool
2: skimmer must be in 1st chamber
3: lets hook you up with a dsb( DEEP SAND BED)
4: Slowley get rid of ceramic stones
5:GET RID OF THAT PLASTIC REEF PAPER AT THE BACK PANNEL

You got one nice skimmer running(Ts2 makes lekker skimate my man)

Max, here is a pic of a simple yet efficient sump.

1st chamber on the left is where the water enters from your display tank and also contains your skimmer.

2nd chamber contains a DSB (Deep Sand Bed)

3rd chamber contains your return pump and carbon etc.
