new sump

    hi there all, had my tank now for bout 2years, first year was a fish only with life rock, then i went over to a reeftank, filtration was a canister filter ,eheim. 2 seios m11oo
    skimmer prizm. now have a sump, finnaly:1:

    sump has 4 compartments, 1 is the overflow,2nd for the skimmer, 3 is for the deep sand bed, and 4 for the return pump

    i have use sand from my tank to kickstart the deep sand bed, i need to put a light in the sump, what do you guys sugest i go for?

    sump is 90-32-32, reeftek ts2 skimmer with octopus 2000l-h pump, aquamedic 2500 return pump

    Burt - can you perhaps post a picture or a schematic drawing of the sump for us?

    The dimensions seems to be ok. I presume that this is a 3 compartment sump? Not 4? The 3 compartment sump sounds good.

    How deep is the compartment for your DSB? I think that a schematic or picture of the sump will help us help you FAR better.

    i have taken the seramic from my old canister filter and placed it in the sump just to get the bacteria in there

    OK - MANY thanks Burt. The compartment for the DSB is unfortunately far too small. Except for that - the sump is perfect.
    It's only the DSB that's a problem.... :)

    Yes I would also make the dsb a bit bigger,im also planning a new tank and sump now almost like yours,you can have a look over here My new tank - Medium Tanks

    the sandbed is 15cm width 15cm deep from front to back panel is bout 32cm, the sand itself is 15cm deep

    my tank is 200l is the dsb still to small ?
