    Good day my peoples :wave2:
    Please to meet you all.

Live in Paarl, Western Cape and work in the IT industry.
Just starting out with marines after keeping bathwater fish for 15 years. Wanted a new challenge and the beauty of keeping marines is just so much more rewarding.

I have been lurking on the site for quite a while and I must say that the advice and contents are superior! And most of the time funny. Have been planning my setup now for more than a year and learning new things everytime I visit the site to look up on marines (no, not navy seals...hehe).

Well I have 2 setups in process. A 200ltr cube and my main tank, a standard 4 foot tank with a side overflow box. Tank is still in the process of been modified. Hopefully all goes well and will be picking it up this weekend....woohoo.
Planning to keep anything possible...lps, sps, you name it. But I am in no hurry!
Lighting is the biggest concern at the moment as I am still deciding what to get. Looking towards LED technology at the moment, but still just planning. Found a LED specialist who can just about do anything with LEDs. Also living in Paarl it gets very hot in the summer, so a chiller is also in the wishlist.

Overall I am just trying to have fun and have my own piece of ocean at home :)
And yes pics will be posted soon

    Update with some pics!

    Hello fellow reefers.
    Hope all is well.

    Super excited
Got my tank last weekend and immediately started to check for leaks and doing tests. Just had a big problem with the overflow slot...it was not low enough, almost flooded the room! Thankfully that problem is no more, as my brother used his Dremmel kit to cut and grind the overflow slot deeper. Also installed a Dursopipe in the overflow box...so goodbye to 24hours toilet sounds.

I have a small Jebo Skimmer for now, until the budget allows for an upgrade. Only have 1 pump for flow at the moment, but will add the 2500ltr/h pump of the Jebo skimmer. Still looking for 2 Sunsun pumps.

BTW - Where can I get Live Rock, preferably cured and during this weekend?

    Future plans:
    - 2x Sunsun pumps for more flow.
    - While cycling taking place, will finish light setup. (LED/T5)
    - Change canopy.
    - Upgrade skimmer to a ORCA - 100.
    - Purchase Live Rock (15kgs for now)
    - Add more aragonite.
    - Purchase a better testkit.
    - Chiller

    Some details:

    Display Tank: 120x45x45cm
    Sump: 90x32x38cm
Lights: 3x T8, still working on the light setup.
    Return pump: Boyu 2100ltr/h
    Skimmer: Jebo something...only temporary
    Flow pumps: 1x Boyu WM2
    Heater: 1x 300w
    Testkit: Sera NO2, NO3, Ammonia

And now for the pics...enjoy :)
