Hi guys. Prices were e-mailed to all shops yesterday. You should be able to get a price from your local pet shop or online store.

We'll get some retailers to help you guys out. AD only wholesales to the trade, but we are more than happy to talk to hobbyists directly for advice, technical help, etc.

The chillers really are in another league. Very energy efficient, quiet, compact and great build quality. Definitely made to last. The Hailea chillers are good too (we also import them), but they're very different machines. Before we launched the range we put a TR15 on our system to make sure we were happy with the performance and their ratings for the different models. When we first saw the unit for our size system we were skeptical if it could keep up, but after we had run it for a while we were very impressed with it.

Chillers are not normally stock items for shops so they'll have to place them on special order. But we have models from the TR5 to the TR30 in stock and carry a full range of spares and accessories. Deliveries can be made quickly too across the country. We'll get a retailer to look at this thread and give you guys some more information.

    hi all,

ok, so we got the teco tr5 chiller last week. we neglected to google enough and thus discovered that we need a pump...

since our rsm 130d has space issues, we need to get an external pump. i've googled around, and these are the brands i have found thus far. what i need is to get your expert opinions and where to get the suggested pumps.

oh firstly, the chiller specs, since it'll help determine the pump output.
    Technical Details
Supply 230V-50Hz (others supplies available on quantity)
    Cooling Power Consumption 160 w
    Ecological Gas R134a
    Min. Flow Rate 500 lt / h
Tank Size up to 250 lt
    (water temp. 25°C - Room temp. 30°C - Heating load 0,3 w / lt)
    Dimensions 24 x 37 x 35 (h) cm
    Weight 12 kg
    Connections 16 or 20 mm

    pump brand names:
    Eheim
    eden
    iwaki
    pan world
    lifetech

from what we've calculated from the teco specs, we need a pump that pumps between 150 - 270gph (600 - 1080lph).

chiller details in relation to the tank, in brief, the chiller is next the tank which is on a cabinet, so the water needs to be pumped up approx 1.5 -2 meters vertical-ish. point is, its not very far :) i dont really understand the impact gravity has on the water so i'm just mentioning it cause i've read a lot of posts and ppl always mention the height the water needs to be pumped up.

so pls pls pls, feel free to give us your recommendations and size of pump too if its not in the obvious range of lph due to other factors like compensation for something. i'm not a physics major :) but i have read stuff.

and also where to source these pumps as we would like to get the pump asap.

many thanks and kind regards all.

    Hi Barlan,

If you want a really good small pump that's quiet, energy efficient and that can also be plumbed externally, then we would recommend the SICCE Syncra Silent 2.0. They're great pumps. It should come out at about the right flow rate for you. But the chiller also has some valves on the inlet & outlet fittings that let you tweak the flow rate. And Teco also sell a very neat inline flow indicator (pretty cheap too) that gives an idea if the flow rate is right.

I'm sure Lanzo or one of the other guys can help you out with a price.

    Kind regards

    Scott
