    Hi there

I would like to build a Malawi tank
Years ago I had a 1,2 m reef tank had to move and only kept the tank
Now I want to use the 1,2 m as my sump and get 1,5m x600mmx600mm
    Malawi tank
I,m northern subs cape town and need help finding out where I can have this tank made

Also I would like advice on making my sump silent
I have built it and spilt it into 5 parts
    My thinking
    1x foam media
    1x fine media
    1x course media
1x settling section/ for young fish but im not planing on breeding
    1x return section for pump

I do know it's and over kill but open for advice
And will be glad to meet like minded people with aquariums if possible in my area

    Ivor

    Hi there and welcome

Not sure if you need such a complex setup for Malawi's. Perhaps others will add their two cents to answer your other questions sir.

Malawis are freshwater fish so this is actually the wrong forum. as far as what you need. not much just a lot of rocks, no plants and a lot of caves. regular water changes coz amonia buildup plays a big role in the tropical aquarium. had a malawi tank for a very long time so i know how to take care of them. as far as breeding go... you wont have any say as they spawn very easily in any type of water conditions. not something you can keep under control. they are worse than rabbits when it comes to spawning lol... but otherwize please go to tropicalaquariumsa.com , there you will also get a lot info on malawis and other type of tropical fish:)
