Hi

I have a 38 litre marine tank in that had 5 fish and a banded coral shrimp 2 days ago. Now it is 2 fish left.:( Not sure why...... any help would be gratefully appreciated.

Hi Leigh-Anne, welcome, if I were to take a guess I'd say you might of had too many fish.

Hi Leigh-Ann. Welcome to MASA.

2 fish is about the limit for a 38L tank I'm afraid... Marine fish generally require a lot more water per cm of fish than freshwater fish. (This is part of the reason they cost more, because shipping cost is relatively higher as you have to ship in more water)

Welcome Leigh Anne.

Yip i'm afraid you might have overstocked that tank, and way too quickly.

Did I understand correctly that you added all that livestock over 2 days ?

Let us know and we will help you out, but don't add anything else until we can get more info ;)

Hi Leigh-Anne! Welcome to MASA! Sorry to hear about the fish that died.
Everyone asked already - BUT, what I would like to know, is:
- how new is the tank? (or old)?
- when did you get the fish?
- it is possible, that IF you added the fish +- a week ago, that the fish was caught using cyanide
- what else changed in the tank -> temp? nitrate levels? pH? ammonia? was there a power outage?

Thanks.
