Hi all, I am the proud owner of a 6ft marine tank. Just started two months ago with plenty of good intentions and little know how. I seem to have managed to keep a few corals and fish alive (probebly by blind luck) and have just been introduced to the concept of protien skimmers etc.
I am trying to find some second hand goods and lots of advice.

Tell us more about your setup. What equipment do you have? What coral and fish do you have? Pictures are always welcome! ;)

    Hello and welcome.

2 months running, and only now got around to skimmers? Sorry, do not want to be nasty towards you, but surely your LFS should have helped you into the right direction (if he got your interest at heart and not your wallet).

But now you came to the right place. Loads of info and advice from people who got the hobby and lifestock wellbeing at heart and got nothing to gain financially by advice given.

And read the links under Tobes signature. good info. Rather step back a moment, read, learn, ask questions, check the for sale forum, use google. Then apply what you learned to your own setup.

I cannot blame the LFS about my setup, or lack thereof. A friend of mine convinced me that with care and regular water changes that I,like himself, would not need a skimmer. Last week he bought himself a skimmer.:)
We are both new to this game and his intentions were good. Anyway once I started to collect a few specimens I was hooked. My LFS has been great with lots of advice, including joining this site ( best idea yet, you guys know how to make someone feel welcom - cheers).

So, no mini-reef, just a small sump, no skimmer, 4 * T5's and lots of work to be done.

Will update with a few pics, dont be too harsh.
