How many compartments do you sump have?
    Looks like 5

    Skimmer

2nd with flow from under to up

Then I'm not sure if that is one big compartment or 2. With a plenium area underneath

    Then return.

Also what media do you have in the middle chambers?

Looks like chicken bone and caramic rings.:p Is that a DSB I see??? And what substrate did you use for that??

Zaidee, please give us a rundown on what filtration you are using in your sump from the 1rst to the last chamber??:)

    Hi guys

There are 4 compartments in the sump :

The skimmer is situated in the first compartment

The second compartment has an up-flow with an approx 10cm layer of eheim substrate, (like small pebbles)

The third compartment is a large section, with a plenum , the substrate above the plenum has a layer of arogonite approx 5cm and above that a 5cm layer of eheim substrate , it also has a power-head to assist in water movement.
I also have another pump which takes water to the chiller and returns it back to this chamber, the chiller is situated in my garage (a hole drilled through the wall with 2 plastic tubes - one for intake and one for out take)

The fourth compartment has Live Rock only and a pump - water flowing back to main tank.

    cheers

    welcome to masa zaidee.

    your livestock looks healthy....:yeahdude:
is that the face of a adult emporer in the bottom right hand third of the tank???

i would colour the back of your rear glass blue, purple or black.

remove about a third of the rock, this will give you more real estate for coral.
    Clean up the filtration system.
decide on what filtration method you would like to use.

i think slowly converting to a deep sand bed with rock in another chamber will do the trick in your sump design aswell as free up alot of space for some good toys, such as skimmers reactors etc etc. so removing the ehim substrate and converting the plenum into a dsb.

or you could leave the plenum

you would probably need to upgrade the lighting if you wanna go reef.

you seem to have experiance and knowledge on your side from what i've seen in the pics, so this advice and advice you will recieve on this forum will guide you in the right direction.

one concern i have is the tank itself......is that an aqua h20 tank with curved glass on the corners?

if you convert then obviously take into consideration the inmates you already have and decide what coral would be suitable with those already housed.

    you naso tang looks wicked:yeahdude:

thanks for the kind words in the pm!

for sure we will help you.
i have put the word out with a few people who encountered the problems
with the same tanks and will let you know there response.
im sure there was a thread about the aqua h20 tanks a while back....can on of the mods perhaps put it here for ZAIDEE.

on reading your pm, my concern is not the base as you said you installed extra brasing on the base and the top.
from what i recall the problem was the front pane, particularly the right side middle section that always gave way by the curve.

can you maybe put some pics of the top brasing you added......maybe someone like idol marine, who builds tanks or even one of the mods like ALAN whos had glass cause choas in his ecosystem , can then give you there view if they feel the brasing you added will work.

you may find your tank is one of the good ones......remember not all were problematic.....

the good news is your tank looks well run in, so if there was a problem.....you should have known about it by now especially with all that live rock in there.

look forward to hearing from you and helping you further.

dont be shy to ask the dudes on the forum for advice.....thats the reason we all hang out here:yeahdude:
