I am starting to create my first tank today with the help of my mate mala1610. I saw his tank last night and was instantly drawn to its awesomeness. I grew up in Zimbabwe and my brother had fresh water fish tanks which I loved. But after seeing a proper marine one last night it's beauty trumped that of a fresh water tank by like a hundred thousand times.

Looking forward to it and getting advice on this forum. Will post pics asap. Obviously it will be a month or so before I put any life in there until the bacteria has built up. I don't have a tank yet but will have one by the end of the day.

Any important start-up tips will be appreciated.:yeahdude:

    Ciao

I've bought like a starter tank with a sump underneath the display tank and some lights. Got a mate to give me some sand and a live rock tomorrow. Will get the ecosystem going over the next month.

The cupboard came with it. I was lucky mate. There is no skimmer but I will invest in that next month. As far as I know I don't need it right now. I need to get the live rock in there with some sand and start the biological process.
