    Hey all,

I have been a member for a while now and decided to stop lurking and introduce myself.

I have been keeping fish tanks for years but only recently caught the reef bug.

I'm currently running a few tanks at home.

    My 350L planted community:

And my pride and joy, my custom built pico tank, currently busy cycling while i wait for my lights to arrive.

I'm still new to salt water tanks, but I'm learning fast and absolutely loving it.

    Peace,
    Kyle

    nice little marine systems.
The clown tank, just get rid of the green stuff before it takes over.

Thanks Guys! This forum is an inspiration to all reefers. Really looking forward to sharing my tanks as they progress.

The pico is actually the start of an experiment of mine:

To see the differences between NSW and RO / SW and their effect on algae/coral growth in a miniature system.

The water and sand in the current tank are both from the ocean (Strand beach).

I'm planning on keeping it rather simple. Possibly a zoa garden and/or some mushrooms.

I'm in the process of setting up the clone of this tank to run the RO / SW side with a store bought sand bed, but until then i'm just going to get my zoa's and mushrooms growing in the pico I have so that I can equally frag into both tanks when the time comes.

Sounds interesting, looking forward to your thoughts when you get them both running.

    Hi Kvans, welcome!
It would be interesting to have two "identical" setups to compare.
How long do you intend to run this experiment?
Will they be placed next to each other?

    Awesome Pico tank.

    Loving the Hammer coral.

Light also looks amazing, really brings out the colors.
