I have to upgrade / change the lighting on my tank. (Cant get 14w 10 000k T5 tubes anymore.)
    The Dimensions are 76L x 46H x 40w.
I keep soft corals only at this point, but who kows what the future holds.
The tank is open top, no canopy and I have no plan to add one in the future.
Suspending the light from the ceiling will be a huge challenge so I would prefer something that rests on the sides of the tank.

I would like to buy a unit because for me D.I.Y. means Destroy It Yourself.

Should I just change to a multiple 24w T5 unit or two?
Or do you reckon a 70 or 150w MH supplemented with T5 or CFL atinics?

Any recomended light units, tubes and bulbs please advise.
    Thanks

I see you using the hopar units. the 24w t5 fits perfect in there but you have to change the ballast.

    Thanks for the replies guys.

    I have another question:
    Would a Light unit with 1 x 150w Mh and 2 x 24w T5's be enough light for a 1m x 60 x 60 "softie" (soft coral only) tank?

Yes, I am now planning an upgrade on the tank in a couple of months. :)

Edit: The plan is to use the light over the Nano for now.

Gawie - contact Johannes at NAAC. I got my last/latest lighting unit from them. And it is awesome. It is 60cm long, in total. Contains 2 x 24 watt T5's (I have replaced the "standard" 10000K white, with actinics), and one x 150 watt Metal Halide....

I am QUITE impressed - brand new unit for under R1800....
