    greetings
let it be known that i have been peaking in and reading threads on MASA for about a month and when i logged on today i got a message kaking on my for never having typed a message
and also let it be known that i typed aa long message and when i was at the very ended my sever politely kicked me off and so i am starting again.

i have yet to introduce myself, as i was waiting to have something interesting or intellegent to say but it seems that everyone is light years ahead of me in this game so, let me go with me very limited knowledge and input.

i begged for a marine tank for my birthday without having done any reseach. . no slap on the wrist required, i have already done that. i got the tank (aquaria magic wave 37) in June and only started to add livestock at the end of september.

i have 2 clowns, 2 banggai caardinals, 1 coral banded shrimp, 2 blue legged hermits, 2 turbo snails and one very shy sand star fish. i also have a hammer coral, frog spawn coraal, recodiaa mushroom, small patch of star polyps, a few zoas and what i think are button polyps?

i have ttried to upload a picture but it keeps telling me that thee size is too big and i dont know how to change that on my samsung tab.

i dont know anyone with a marine taank, so am left talking to the guys in the fish shop and one can never bee sure if they are giving correct advice or making a quick yet expensive sale.

i need colour in the tank, what would be the best bet?

comments and constuctive crits (dont break my spirit) welcome

    happy evening

    Hi nickita.
    Welcome to Masa!

I like your ”open" setup with the scaping.
    What filtration do you use?

For color, you could add some mushrooms, and zoas. My 2c.
    Cheers!

    Welcome to MASA!!
Glad you finally decided to post pics of your tank.
Tank looks good so far. What lighting does the tank have? If you want color, how about getting some zoanthids, they colorful and easy to keep. Maybe consider getting a leather of sorts.

hi and thatnks for the comments and welcomes!!

gesiggie - i have the standard filtration that comes with these newby setups. a venturi skimmer, a prefilter basket with sponge, a refugium basket (to which i added calurpa, spelling?) and hen aa back biofilter with ceramic rings. honmestly i would not have know what to add if i had to haave done it myself, and i am hoping that this is sufficient :)

    lighting includes front light 2 x 24w and 3 x 15ma LED
there is alos a backlight for refugium which is 5w

459b thanks i will try get my hands on some more zaos and a leather. i must say that being new leads one to wanting a little of everything, because its all so pretty and faascinating.

does anyone know where i can get smaller frags then what the supply in the fish shops, they alwways sttock such big pieces and my little tank needs smaller pieces. i aaam in the northriding \ fourways area.

when i got the 2 clowns (my first live stock) i got them a snad nennie, and the little buggars attacked it and bit aa whole into it/s side :( i was so sad, i took it back to the fish shop, and the kindly swapped me for something else, i do realise my error, and that nenniees are not for beginners but i was trying to make the naughty clowns happy.

sorry for typos, new wireless keyboard tht i am not used to.

    again thanks for replies.

welcome! Get some zoas as they are super easy to keep and are colourful. Like my vietnam zoas below, they are common now days and you can pick up frags easy
    [IMG]

Rakabos and mariusmeyer normally have lots of zoa frags, with marius being closest to you
