Very happy so far, does not give me any problems. A buddy of my also have one and does not experience any problems. I have not test all the functions (WiFi, Internet Radio, etc) , but the movies are working like a bomb. Copy info from one unit to another also run smooth.

According to what I understand, is the MVix 780HD discontinue. I am in the process of compressing all my DVD’s into smaller sizes, so that it’s ready for the Dec holiday!! No more stacks and stacks of DVD for the kids!!:)

Check this test out, pretty impessive!

Streaming Test -- 1080p MKV from Netgear DG834GT (108MBPS) router to Mede8er with MED10WF WiFi Dongle using NFS. Distance +- 15 meters YouTube down for maintenance

    Demo of the functions

Easy, you only need a PC, connect the two devices with USB or Printer cables or you can go wireless to the PC and copy from the one "drive" to the other "drive".

The operate the same as a memory stick, if you connect it to a Pc, it create a drive whereto you can copy, delete, modify etc.

    Sounds really good.

What size HDD you running, and which format do you prefer? I kinda like ISO file as they are easy to write to disc...

    I have a 1TB drive with about 90 movies and 1000 songs on it (+ - 300MB used)

Most of the movies on the drive are in avi format, but I still need to copy all my DVD's to the drive. I have not decided what format to use and also looking for good software. I want to compress, to safe space, but also does not want to loose video quality. I have tested some software but cannot make up my mind what is the best. Mybe I should also go the ISO route

I feel the ISO is the best for ease of use, if you want to write it to disc, just use Nero, no converting to make it playable in a Std DVD player.... but then again, some/most DVD players can now play Divx too?

I was thinking along the lines of one of these medi8ter jobs for all my DVD's music Videos, CD's Home videos and mountains of pic'c. At the moment i have 2 x 1.5 t drives and a 350 g, apart from the HD's on each desktop on my net.

If i get the basic model can i just plug in the external drives with all my saved media or will i have to redo it? I would prefer to have the external drives connected to the medi8ter than one of my network PC's

Second question. Does the medi8tor allow one to play tracks from different music DVD;s in an iTunes type manner? In other words create a play list.

Pointers on software for the above?

I had a Mede8er and after way too many issues recently replaced it with an Xtreamer Prodigy. This works like a charm for me and my better half is also more comfy with it.

very nice to have all your media easily accesible ;-)
