    Hi all

I am trying something out, I have created a new forum called RSS Feeds, now this forum will automatically pull interesting stories from around the internet and place them as threads on the forum.

Now I don't know how exactly this works or how often or how many threads it is going to create, nor do I know if it is a good idea at all. It could generate some interesting content about new products or good articles and so on, or it could just become incredibly irritating. :p Give it a day or two to run and let me know if you think it's a good idea or if I should get rid of it.

    Thanks.

    Thanks. :)

It seems to work quite well, although I think it may be a good idea to prevent these threads from showing up when using the New Posts link as it may detract from the normal members threads, I don't know, we'll see how it goes and how long it takes before someone shouts at me :p

Love the info Viper. I often print articles I fine interesting. There will come a time when I have to refer back to them. (and I ususally have to read things at least 5 times to get the message :p)
Could we not just have a block on the main page where all the feeds just pop-up (and remain) there for a day or two? Then it won't detract from the main page new items aimed at our members threads.

    Good stuff....loved the caulepra article.

Excellent idea, I'll do that, thanks.

Sorry i'm not with you? So far it's pulling info from advanced aquarist, reefbuilders and modern reefkeeping, those are all informational websites, not commercial. Are you referring to a specific article?

seems ok, am sure will be one or two boring threads it will pick up, but otherwise it will have gems amongst it, and I am sure it will keep us up to date

I'm pretty sure none of the sponsors are going to go out of business because of one obscure little reactor that is being released overseas that will probably never reach our shores anyway. As magman said, it will pick up one or two irrelevant articles but I'm sure we can all look past that and move on to the next more interesting article.:)
