    Got this guy today :)

Opened up beautifully showing off its mantle and opening its mouth/water intake nice and wide.

His "foot" sucked onto a rock which is under the substrate so he'll be easy to move but considering the looks I don't think he needs to go higher.

Camera: :( Samsung Galaxy 10.1v - Settings - Macro and Cloud environment.

Lighting: 14000 kelvin spectrum under blue & white LEDS.

    Excuse the dirty glass.

Would like to get a squamosa to go along with this one :p

    tab. :)

But its my primary camera at the moment.

I'm not much of a photo guy and I usually use my phone but being at the end of its 2 year contract everything stops working, you know how it is. At least my upgrade is next month. :d

    Thanks ppl :)

All the light are up yea, wish I could get my hands on a PAR meter.

The research I did said they could take a few days before they attach, this one however sucked onto the rock, turned itself a bit and seems to be stationary now :)

That is a T. maxima, they need rock and not sand. I know you said that it attcahed to the rock under the substrate, just make sure of that!

If the light is enough you dont need to feed a clam anything.
also just be careful cause when his "mouth" is opened so wide it is called gaping and is not actually a sign of health but rather stress, nothing to worry about but just keep an eye on it, also just letting you know so you can see the diff between gaping and a healthy open "mouth"

from the research I've done they only truly need to be fed if they are under 2 inches. (5cm), mine is about 10cm.

So not feeding it at the moment. I'm looking into reef pearls (the np-biopellet coral food) as a supplement food source to all my corals. When I start that up he might benefit.

Thanks, definitely not gaping. Responds well to being shadowed and as you can see the tissue around the mouth is sturdy/tight. Closes well when startled.
