    Hiya all -

I got myself a tiny winy little calcium reactor. I decided that I wanted to start experimenting with a CaRX. So, I came across this:

I got the small one.... ;)

I tested the effluent, and the pH was about 6.8 and the calcium in the effluent water, around 500.

I got my CO2 bottle filled correctly the first time today. So - Now, I need to know what my bubble count SHOULD be in the bubble counter?

I have crushed coral pieces as calcium reactor media.

I will take some pics later on, and post it here.... (as well as on my thread).....

I just need to know what the bubble count should be, and how fast the water flow coming out of the reactor, should be?

    Many thanks!

This is one piece of equipment where size doesn't count ;)

The smaller units just need to be filled more often.

You need to try out different bubble counts to see the effect of the lower pH on the entire system and also monitor the Ca levels. No point running a bubble every 3 seconds and your Ca levels don't go above 300.

If you need to run a quicker bubble count, counter the lower pH, by using high pH (17+) RO for your auto top up.

Jay, watch those clams grow now, they are going love you for it :)

It is the only reason I run a CaRx, is to keep my Giant molluscs happy ;)

Yes Warren - I don't have a solenoid. This price includes the following:
    - CaRX device (WeiPro) (includes a 500 l/hour supply pump, recirculating pump, bubble counter, all piping needed)
    - 1 x 2KG CO2 bottle
    - regulator with gauge

My new aquamedic 1000 Carx has been running for 1 day now. PH in reactor 6.5, Calcium reading coming out is 500.

CO2 Bubble Count +/- 1 bubble per second
Affluent bubble count at about 40 drips per minute.

Calcium reading in DT = 450. I could never really get it above 400 until now, so i'm happy:)

Hope this help you tweak yours Jaques
