Just make sure your sump still has enough capacity to handle your overflow from the display tank when you switch off the return pump

I'm sure it will @Nero19 ask, ask and ask if you not sure :) but you'll obviously also learn as time goes on!

You can turn the return pump with grid facing front glass that way the cable still goes to the back of the sump or at least that's how I prefer it lol.

Will switch off the pump then and let all the water run down then top it up to max and restart

Small update. Everything up and cycling now. All seems to be working. Got my glass skimmer stand made, nice and solid.
2 kinds of macro algae added(thank you @scottyD ) to refugium, just still trying to figure out a way to make is tumble a bit.

Also tidied up my cables and electronics a bit

Now just need to wait out the cycling and build my cabinet...

Looking really good. The algea doesnt have to tumble. Every few days you can just do it by hand. You going to run it on a reverse cycle?

Still wanted to ask about that, saw someone mentioning it once. How/why does that work again?

Evening everyone. Making some progress with the tank, slow and steady. Progressively added CUC and a couple of fish after tank finished cycling. Parameters all staying stable so-far.

    Thank you

What would be the best to seal it with? Woodoc marine or just a thick varnish?
