Hey all!

OK, so I got my clowns. Acclimitised them just fine. except, one is swimming kinda funny --- head always above tail, but doesn't really go either deeper or shallower in my tank :S Any ideas?!

Clowns can be rather confusing at times, but as long as when he is swimming his head is infront of his tail I wouldn't be too worried:lol:

If he is eating its a good sign, if not then maybe there is a problem, maybe a swim bladder problem, was he like this in the LFS?

How long has the tank been running? what size is it, are there any other fish? water quality?

I've even come home late at night to find one of mine lying on his side at the bottom of the tank, shit myself and quickly turned the lights on and stuck my hand in to pick him up and he was just sleeping.

Well, this one didn't make it through the night. Was laying on it's side last night, and this morning, no sign of it. Tank has been up and running for 4 months now. My tang and the other clowns are perfectly happy without any problem. It was fine at the LFS, but it seems like it was a swim bladder problem - about the same signs as when my freshwater fish dies - same weird way of swimming, etc.

Anyhoo, thanx for all the help guys! :)

thanx, but that's the way things go, isn't it :S Nothing one can do about it now. Got a new one again from the LFS, took the one which showed the most amount of action :)

Clowns are fairly hardy fish, shouldn't have any problems if you acclimatize it properly. Good luck with this one :)

:( Sorry for the loss, But got a funny feeling he was already sick from the LFS or perhaps hurt him when they caught it. Best of luck with the new dude.

TInus - really sorry to hear about the loss of the one clown-fish..... I am glad that the others are ok though.... As you said - unfortunately we do not know what these poor fish go through - and as such, this is UNFORTUNATELY the way it goes..... We win some, we lose some.... :-(
