Hey guys sorry to bring back an old thread, but thought i could post in here. Needing help with a non return valve for Kalkstirrer. Its hooked up to tunze osmolator and the check valve i have is pretty stiff so water does not push through with a steady stream. Need to make a plan as the stirrer just back feeds into ro chamber. Would this hole Idea work with RO piping. Or should i find a larger check valve and step up the size of pipe to match check valve. thanks in advance

Not sure on your setup. Maybe a picture would help.

Do your kalkstirrer flow into RO container?

Im too scared to connect the Tunze osmolator to the kalkstirrer as it pushes alot of water at a high pressure...Maybe then one does not need to stir the kalk cos of water pressure from osmolator...

I use the normal see through airline non return valve and works like a charm...

Will put up pic tonight. Basically sump with seperate ro chamber holding about 25liters and RO KS100 sits inside. Tunze osmolator on other side of sump keeping correct level and metering pump in ro chamber. Once connected to Stirrer inlet is at the bottom and so is the pump which lies at bottom of sump, however water level is lower in sump then level in strirre. Hope that helps thanks Riaan
Here's a quick pic, please excuse my windows paint skills LOL

ok, there is the problem area.

So to confirm, pump switch off, and water drain out of stirrer via pump back into RO container

correct, was given check valve plastic blue thingy seen a pic on internet, blew that one as the valve to strong. Then tried a check valve that came with my marine magic doser just to see if valve was issue and it worked like a dream, but would prefer not to use that one as for my doser

Sent Andre at reef aquatics Pm, just waiting his response. Was just enquiring what others were doing in similar situation, and what check valves and do they use them or an alternative.
Just for a test managed to speak to a company that gets these push connector ones that are check valves and work with RO piping, so going to pick up those two this arvie

Hey Guys just an update managed to find a non return valve which has the 1/4inch push in connector either side. Hooked it up to the tunze osmolator and no hassles whatsover. the pump is not restricted and topup water flows perfectly through it into the kalkstirrer. Cost me R75 each and got two might seem expensive as you can get those blue aquamedic non return valves cheaper, but to be honest buggered two of them up in 2 weeks, and the osmolator pump did not like pushing water through it, when it was on water was spluttering out of it, however with this one no restrictions and definately nothing coming back from the kalkstirrer. Only thing now is to see how long these ones last

    Thanks & Regards
