I live on a farm in Durbanville & have a biggish dam that I was thinking about breeding freshwater Lobster in, but unfortunately I know nothing about the subject. So I am putting it out there to anyone with help, info, training, stock etc. I would greatley appreciate it.

and it only takes ones dam flood due to heavy rains to wash the lobsters into our local rivers leading to an environmental problem. Luckily the law is changing, and they can now go back to the original culprit and charge him the full amount of the rescue and cleanup action. Even if you one day sell the property and the next owner somehow drain the dam releasing them. Daff can still come back to you and held you liable for all costs, plus a fine.

    Willing to take that risk?

Breeding of freshwater shrimp is illegal, even for food. What size dam do you have? Maybe look into using it as a grow out dam for a fish species.
Best bet would be to contact soem one from here: http://www.aasa-aqua.co.za/ , they will have all the info needed for breeding.
