    Hi Guys,

Cleaned the tank this weekend, and cleaned the powerheads too. Took my Seio M820 apart and cleaned it up, and put it back together again.

However, now i notice that after a while the seio starts making a noise and vibrating quite a bit. Swith it off, put it back on, same problem. Take it apart again, no obvious issues, put it back together again, and runs quiet for a while and then starts with the noise and vibrating.

What could be the cause of the problem? Did i do something wrong?

    Please help.

    Thanks

Just check the the ceramic shaft is put nicely back in the rubber bushes, check that there is no sand or grit in the impeller shaft.

Hi dogstar, did you make sure you put all the rubbers in place where the impeller sits?

Okay, when i took it apart there were no rubbers apart from the small one where the little white plastic stick goes into (part of the front cover of the powerhead).

Should there have been rubbers inside the unit? I bought this second hand?

Just to add, i did not take apart the impeller, i just took it out, gave the inside of the powerhead a good rinse, and put it back in.

There should be two rubbers, one that goes into the bottom of the shaft an the other that attaches to the cover of the pump.

The one that attaches to the cover, yeah sorted on that one.

The bottom of the shaft i did see a small rubber, almost like a bearing, i did not take it off the shaft, just removed the muck that was stuck to it.

This pic courtesy of Warr7207 shows that little white stick in the impellor. I did not remove that stick from the powerhead. Just slid the impellor out of the unit and cleaned it, and slide it back onto that stick into the powerhead. So i did not even see the little rubber that we can see in the pic below. Hope that kinda explains what i did.

Dogstar, check the two point plug as well. Sometimes if they don't make good contact inside the female two point the pumps can make that "crrrr" rattling noise. I once just bumped against the plug and it did that.

Okay so i checked the plug points, no problem, i managed to take out both rubbers and clean them, and i did put them back properly, but i still get the crrr noise every now and then. Is this something to be concerned about?

dogstar i have the same problem when that happens thr is a plastic air intake behind the pump witch you can ajust...it normally works for me.
If that does not work you maybe hand tightened the plastic nut infront to tightly loosen it a bit...hope this will help you
