ok so i need 6 dosing containers, and retail ones were about R1200 for all 6 so i made my own

6 Glass bottles with cork R60
    6 plastic rods R30

    Step 1
drill a hole thru the cork, should be 1mm wider than tube diameter
    [IMG]

    step 2
cut plastic tube to correct length
    [IMG]

    step 3
insert tube thru cork, make sure its not a perfect seal
    [IMG]

bam 6 dosing containers done, easy to use, easy to clean

Cool idea. Just wondering if the pipe is sealed tight against the cork, if so you might have some issues as the pumps will pull a bit of vacuum while running (assuming you are using peristaltic pumps)

Yip! But as @JackSplat mentioned you will be creating a vacuum inside the Botles. Needs a litle vent.

    But Nice Idea Anyway!

Kewl. I was once at @home and was eyeing out those spagetti containers that come in acrylic for the same purpose.

Why six containers, what do u plan on dosing.

Very nice. If you are afraid about the vacuum for dosing pumps you could always drill two holes and insert one shorty as well to eliminate vacuum. But as said before they aren't sealed. It's amazing that a thing as simple as a dosing container can cost R1200 for 6. It's not a fashion contest after all. What they do is key. Do you have a picture of the store ones @dallasg ? I am going to build a Sump with 4 chambers built in to save space and would like to see the difference as I will need something to cover these chambers.

Great idea but when I see the green bottles I want to burst out into song:
Ten green bottles hanging on the wall,Ten green bottles hanging on the wall,And if one green bottle should accidentally fall,There'll be nine green bottles hanging on the wall.

Sheesh that's a lot of dow to fork out for something so simple. The perspex can't be more than R250 and the odds and ends maybe R200. Thanks for the pic though. Given me an idea...
