Go to bike shop and see your options. I dont think they will corode as they far away from water and also super strong. Hell 3m per side, thats pritty long cable you need. Make a plan to make it work thats what me always do.

Mookz. Visit a fishing tackle shop and get yourself 330lb steel cable, it is nylon coated and usually comes in 10meter rolls, even 200lb should be sufficient. We use it for shark fishing.

get 3 or 4mm stainless steel cable they are like R4.50 pm here in east london. im sure you could get it from a place like SCAW metals or any other metal merchant. galve will tarnish the unit in time asm there is a reaction between the metals.

330 lb cable, hell you can have a fat ass gal swinging on those. I will be getting that soon maybe a bit lighter pounds cable for my trip to Terrace Bay, Skeleton Coast in March for Bronze Whalers. Those Shark beat us last year, even broke a Shimano reel on the take into pieces.

Na, I rather spend my bucks on flyfishing tackle for Yellows. I have my old faithfull Penn 49, that should work well for those huge Bronzies. I might get some drop fishing stuff, dunno if it work for Kabeljou and Steenbras.

But make sure it is nylon or carbon coated to keep away the salt spray/creep, otherwise, you gonna have a problem with it rusting.
