Neater wires

    ok for my next diy i am going to build a unit to house all my wires balasts starters and timers and everything els you can think of i want to add switches and so on so that i can turn pumps on or off and i can plug the pumps into the back of the unit i hope it comes out ok 4234757e71ee90de.jpg

    Nice project, are you going to add some cooling fans because with all the ballasts in there it's going to get pretty warm.

    yeah nakoma would ad a few pc fans to that rig, keep us updated

    oh yes there will be old computer fans in it to extract the heat and after i am done i will take everything out of the front display or tape it up and spray paint it with a nice heat risistand paint so i will end up with a nice blue box or something i will add some trip switches as well

    ok this is what the unit will look like in the back for the balsts and pumps it is a 3 prong plug so 3 live balst wires will go to one and 3 negative wires to the other plug next to it and so on well that is the idea i have 4234757ed0925a4f.jpg

    Maybe upgrade the balasts to electronic ones, if you are using T5 they don't run 100% with them, and it is said the bulbs last longer, also don't run as hot.

    thanks for the tip i will run it with what i have at the moment and replace them with the new ones a litle later thanks i did not even know you get new type balasts

    1 more thing in winter you can use the case as a heater.:lol:

    i live in hell we use aircons in the winter:thumbup:
