natural sea sand

    I'm using natural sea sand in my dsb ,could I use it as a substrate as well?

    I agree, you can. I have half aragonite and half beach sand mix in mine and I am happy. almost the same size grains and colour.

    Isn't it illegal to collect sand off the beaches in South Africa? I'm sure I read that on one of the other threads on this forum.

    Used to be OK. That is when I got my sand last year.
    Now with latest laws it seems that you need a license to mine.

    I would ask the parks board wherever you are if its OK for you take take one 10L bucket. Before you load it.

    yes you can use natural see sand, just make sure you collect it at low water tide
