I saw an interesting advert on a programme to be viewed on Sunday 11 November at 19:00.

Fish Tank Kings. "Creating tanks for the home plate backstop of the new Miami Marlins baseball stadium requires tough materials that can survive fast balls"

    Souds interesting....

 The balls are going to be hitting the tank? Poor fish are all going to be dead from shock. Or going to look like this at the end of the game,

I'd like to see what this is all about. Only saw the snippet. Surely you cannot hit a tank with a baseball...:(

I watched this episode the other night, these guys know what they're doing, not like that "other" show. LS was collected way in advance and qt'd, the design is quite cool, they've put bullet resistant plexi glass a few inches in front of the tank itself. They had one of their (Miami Marlins) professional pitchers throw a ball directly at it, I think they recorded the speed at just over 80m/ph, the ball just bounced off, but they also said that the chances of a ball hitting it at that speed during play is very slim.

Great show, just didn't like the idea of the fake corals...

Not as bad as Tanked, but they're still pretty annoying.

I find Tanked more watchable. Fish tank kings' crew annoy the heck out of me

I have both of these shows, and I have to say 1 thing.

I HATE artificial corals they use, it looks to fake :-( And they seem to damn expensive at an average of 40-60k USD a tank

They do get to choose the best livestock though, seriously spoilt for choice there!

The funny thing is the lengths they go to for coloring the fake corals which will be covered in green algae a month later.

I wonder how many of these stunning tanks look even half that nice a month later with the plastic coral

Seriously, anyone who uses fake corals should stick to guppies.
