I have recently acquired a Naso tang. He's been in quarantine nearly 2 weeks and seems fine except I can't get him to eat anything. Loosing weight rapidly and if I can't get him eating he won't make it. Tried nori, dried krill, fresh shrimp, pellets, fresh scallops, Instant Ocean Marine Blend ... just about everything I can think of and he won't have any of it. He's in the DT now and there is algae for nibbling but he doesn't go for that either. Any suggestions?

Brine or blood worm, just to see if there is an eating response and no throat or esophagus damage

    Bad handling, catching etc
It happens a lot in batfish, very fragile. I don't think its that but if no live food stimulates eating or entice then eighter a koi/fish vet or euthenasia

That's worst case. Try garlic oil in live food, try entice, and garlic gaurd, hell try carrots or blanched lettuce even :) let's get him eating

whats meds did you have him in QT? Some of the copper meds are harsh on the fish, best bet is to use seachem curpramine if you going to use copper, and run it at .250, safer is to use paraguard. What meds did you use in QT. Hopefully he will start eating in the DT now, this is a stressful time if he hasn't eaten in the first two weeks. Is he getting skeletal yet?

I had him on Microbe-Lift Herbtana and Artemiss. I've already put him in DT so don't want to move him again if at all possible. Don't you think that'll just make it worse? No, not skeletal yet but thin and not very active.

I actually saved one from the lfs that was close to death. He was there for three weeks amd wouldnt eat anything. I added him to the dt and only fed spirulina flakes. He started eating after 2 days. Give it a shot

I tried two times with the herbatana for bonsai regals and centro angels, and they don't eat during the treatment, the day you stop treating, they eat. Rather use paraguard in QT, it only lasts 24 hours in the water.
