Hi,

I have recently acquired a 24 gallon nano cube. The standard lighting in this system is not sufficient for a sea anemone. On the nanocustoms.com website they had HQI lighting upgrade kits.

I have not been able to locate a local (Jhb, SA) dealer. I would appreciate it if someone could point me in the right direction.

Thanks,

Vincent

Welcome :)

I don't know about that light.
but i had that exact tank and upgraded the lighting.
If you look at the standard lighting there is space in the unit for another 24 watt globe. making your total wattage 96 watts.
good enough for an anemone in the small, shallow tank
(it will also work out cheaper as you just need to buy the globe and a ballast)

Hi Mike,

Thanks for the advice! Did you put a light reflector of some kind behind the additional light?

Everything is going well with the tank, still early days though!

Have you still got ur nano or have you moved on to bigger things?

no just bent the reflector that is in there already in there a bit.
yep did a tank exchange with another chap on this forum. got a 125L tank with a 50l sump. so not that much bigger but the rectangular shape fits my room better. That nano is 1st prize if you staring to learn this game. what have got in the compartments at the back?
