At long last I got so far to post some photos and specs on my wife's little tank... (one I must admit I have to maintain, she just stocks and enjoys...)

Anyway, the tank is in our kitchen on the counter, and it was my old little cube that I built... This tank has now been running for about 4 months.

    Tank Size:
    300x300x300

    Filtration:
Rear compartment with ceramic rings, cheato and LR.
Weekly 50% water change and dosing Microbelift Special Blend

    Lighting:
6W Creed LED, consisting of 4x 10000K LED and 2x Actinic LED

    Flow:
Very low to none... I only have a very very small return pump, that does about 130 litre per hour. Reason for the low flow is the inhabitants mainly...

    Livestock:

2x Spotted boxfish (still tiny luckily...;))
    1x Dragon Head Pipefish
    1x Pink Nudibranch
    1x Blue Legged Hermit
    1x Upside Down Jellyfish

Some zoa's, macro algae, mushrooms and pulsating xenia.

    Feeding:
The Jellyfish is more of filter feeder, and thus he gets phyto and zoo daily, as does the coral. The boxfish and the pipefish only eat brine nauplii, but thanks to the NPS tank I can supply them with ample brine daily too, so I have not issue feeding them. The nudi is quite a challenge, as I am still not sure what they eat. I cannot really see him eating, but he seems to do fine, so he must be eating something.

    Here are a few photos:

    That is so nice.

Are keeping those guys viable in the long run? Especially the nudy?

Well, I know that apparantly the boxfish can grow to 45cm or someting, which is quite a problem having them in a 300mm cube (lol) but they seem to grow very very slowly.

The pipefish would live long as long as I keep water params in check and feed it...

The Nudi however was an impulsive buy from the Mrs. It was initially not for sale, as the LFS brought it in for their own tank, but after she used her power of pursuation ability (flirting) then the sales guy agreed and she got it for R100...

I have found very limited info on it's care, but it seems to be doing okey, I just wish I could find the foodsource and make sure it has enough of it.

It "runs" over the zoa's, agains the glass and over the algae, but I cannot see whether or not it eats any of it...

    Very nice Jaco!!

do you do the WC or the MRS?

I belive the very sepcific feeders and every species of nudi differs. maybe you need to find out what it eats incase what ever its feeding off runs out.

dose she use her super powers when you are buying things for your tank? :tt2:

If you mean MRS do you mean special blend? I do both water changes and dose.

Yes, the nudi's are very specific, and the plan is to find what he eats, but i cannot see. I will get him ample food of what ever he eats if I only knew what it was... :p

And no, the only powers my wife uses when I buy things for my tank is super strength, laser vission and the evil eye...

Oh no, you know mos how it is: "no honey, I will do everything on the tank if you teach me..." Then, every week when it is time to be taught, she has 101 excuses... lol... So I do it all...

She actually rocked up at home with the boxfish, whilst this tank was standing in my garage collecting dust particles for lunar experimentation... SO she gave me very very little time to get that tank set up... But thank goodness I had the NPS tank to support it...

    Hey Jaco

If im not mistaken i think your nudi (Chromodoris bullocki) is a sponge feeder.

    Thank you!!

That is what I also gathered, but after looking on page three of the link Evo R posted, I am thinking it may as well be a Hypselodoris bullockii

Quote: "Similar to, but can be separated from Chromodoris by the former's longer, taller body, broader heads and more anterior rhinophores. Further, Hypselodoris have their simple gills arranged in a circle around the anus. Aquarium images. "

Mine does have that ring around the anus gills (imagine having to breathe through your arse!?!?!?!?!)... Also, with the bullocki, it has red tips on the gills and rhinophores, so I will make sure if mine has it...

Wish I knew... I actually placed a few different pieces of sponges in the tank, but no luck. I tried flakes as reported, but no luck. GHA, not really...

So I am still trying to see what it actually eats.

Yeah, I got the ID, and there is a dedicated forum called seaslugforum.net but even on there people are quite stumped with what they eat exaclty. Some say sponges, others say algae, others say flakes etc...
