    Hi Guys

    Ok so setup a 46cmL x 45cmH x 40cmW aquarium
    Made a in DT sump about 46cmL x 45cmH x 10cmW
First compartment a hang on Skimmer then DSB and return with a 750L/H pump
    Substrate is 1x 9kg Arag-Alive sand olite
Then fitted the top side with perspex and a normal plastic canopy, had a strip of LED's that I fitted about 30cm long
Then some LR that was in another tank full of GHA
In the first week the GHA disappear and a lot of pods and bristles
So I added another 30cm LED strip and 1x 30cm Blue LED strip
add some needle algae and red algae and 2 hermits
this tank is running about 2 months now.
Ordered a shroom to test and planing to add 2x 30cm LED strips as well
To be honest there is no sand in the DSB yet:razz:
Still thinking what to put in, my 9kg Arg-alive black or sea sand

but any way just trying to test the LED's
    Will upload pics tonight
Oh and since I started it I didn't top up with RO yet due to the perspex

I say, leave out the DSB and run some Zeolites in it along with a carbon and bacteria source. ;)

Hey bud, cool looking setup so far! But from everything I've read those 1w LEDs are useless for actual growth. I think they just miss the mark when it comes to PAR. Still, will be interesting to see how the softies actually respond to it.

In the mean time... get those two algae covered rocks out of the tank and cook them or something!! ;-)

    will be watching this one

    hahaha Dane

Those 2 rocks cost me a lot, have them since I started and never had a problem with them.

    Mekaeel
I've got some seachem Purigen and seagel, I can put that in.

    thanks for the replies

lol, There I was, thinking I'm very intelligent and put a pump in and open the air to the pump, lol, the bubbles popping at water line short my leds:p.

This tank running now only for 7 months with LR, very stable
Strange you bringing up this tread, lol, was going to do the first water test on this tank tonight, this tank has other plans, will see. No leds running anymore only 1x 24W 50/50 cl
