    Welcome Malooda

I would say the NW200 or the OTX160 as both are far more powerfull than the TS2. IMPO TS2 is too small for your tank

Lights i would say 2*150W MH with 4*54W T5's minimum

Powerheads depend on the corals u keep as well as the types of power heads u get. I would say 2*12000LPH sun suns and 2*Seio prop 1500's

In terms of ur sump u can break the other pieces out or build a complete new one. I would go with building a complete new one with a chamber for your auto top up which is vital imo

Other advise make sure you have a Quarantine tank for any and all livestock will save u lotsa stress and heartache in the future.

im sure 1 of the sponsors could build 1 for u or u could diy not too difficult.

octx 160 is the reef octo 1 and the same. its over rated and would not be adequate on a 900l system there is a member on here using it on a 200l system and its not too big. i personally like bigger skimmers but if u dont over stock the 160 or dnw 200 will be fine

Scaping is going to be a bitch in such a tall and narrow tank. Good luck.

    Hello Malooda.
What do you mean by aliminium and sump. From what I can see is that the sump is supported by metal strimps and corners. And that is aliminium. And the top part.
Well as long as the aliminium is not in the water it should not give problems.

Why change the sump, unless you want to go with a DSB. At the moment it got up and down flow areas. Plenty. A DSB sump needs 3 compartments with middle one having a flow across the top. Almost sure that you will be able to adjust that sump. Even maybe use the same glass partitions. Maybe post another pic of sump, from the unpainted back side.

Rockscaping will be a bitch. but there are ways to ensure a stable tall structure. Get plastic or fibreglass rods. Dril holes straight through the rocks and stack them up. Like a sosatie. Trick will be to get it that it looks natural and not lopsided and like a ice cream cone with 10 scoops.

    thanks riaan
yeah the aluminum is supporting the sump and it should not be in the water but happens if it does come into contact with some is that ok
as for the sump my first chamber to small for my skimmer and i think the chambers are two small for a dsb not enough flow over it and the middle two chamers the water enters from the bottom so dsb kinda out of the q
i was thinking of just breaking the middle glass [if the aluminum is ok] and having 3 chambers the 1st with the skimmer and second with lotsa small pieces of live rock

good idea just put a power head in there to keep the detritus in suspension so that the LR does not become a dirt trap

an occasional few splashes on the aluminium frame should be no problem.

Only possible issue can be the sump strenght if some of the glass panes are removed. Take into account that the panes do also work as bracing. So the question is what is the glass thickness on the sump? Or is it also acrilic?
