    Hi Guys/Gals

I have over the last 2 weeks finally added some life to my tank.
    250l Cube tank.
It is great, hope all goes well with my fish, they have been doing great so far.

I added a new False pecular clown and it started figting with my first oe, which i expected, seems like they have already sorted themselves out.

I had a lot of algae in the just before i put my fish in, it seems to be more controlled now, especially with my yellow tang he does not stop eating.

    Here are some pics.
I have named everything, correct me if i am wrong.

    Hi there Sout!

I'm a bit of a newbie. How long did you circulate the tank before adding the LS?

How has the Tang acclimatised to your tank? I have been told by the seniors on the forum that 250L is too small to keep a Tang... I plan on setting up a 250L tank in the next few weeks and therefore enjoy following threads with tanks of similar age and size to mine (i.e. new systems), and seeing which stock do well in such a size setup. Although, water parametres play a larger role in quality of life than tank size.

Looking good so far, keep posting! Hope you don't mind me "tagging" along...

@Theo, I think I am gonna take the fish back tomorrow, it is one of my goldies, what can I do to get rid of it though.

Commando, I circulated it for 4 weeks, but I added bacteria supplements in it to help speed up the process of getting the ammonia levels down. They were nil after 2 weeks of circulation thanks to the bacteria supplement. I got told that a tang would be fine in my tank size along as I only keep one, which is fine as they are territorial anyway. The tang is super was the second fish I bought. I started with invertebrates first, hermit and snails.

COOL STUFF! Great that the system is doing well... I may consider getting a single tang then (I hear that they have great personalities)... but let's see, I'm here to take things slow.

I will let you know when I start my thread... should get my tank in the next 2 weeks or so.

sout, you should get microbelift herbatana. Its for the treatment of white spot and its reef safe! The guys who have used it reported great results. If 1 fish has white spot then its very likely that the tang will have it also. So the herbatana is a nice thing to keep.

Its best to quarantine new fish prior to adding it to the Display tank. Tangs are very prone to getting white spot :)

If you want to get a tang in a small tank, buy the tiny ones which are like 3cm long. That way you can keep it longer in your tank before you will have to sell it or get a bigger tank.. Remember that tangs like turbulent oxygen rich water :)
