My tank has been restared and has been running for a week already. The live rock was introduced last friday and the tank is now in cycle.I l also added a 25 % of the tank volume from a friends tank and also from his sump I took filter material I hope this will shorten the cycle time.

If your rocks were kept in water while you rebuild the tank. There should be minimum die off. Doubt you will see any significant cycle process.

The rocks were kept submerged in a friends sump which is connected to a tank which is over 5yrs old and full of pods and other cretures Does this still mean that I have to wait +/- 6 weeks before i can return my fish and other critters?

most likely not.

Check after 3 or 4 days, your ammonia levels. It should be zero.
