I thought I would put this thread in the New members section, as I would say I am a newbie on setting up a tank from scratch. I have been on MASA for some time, but my first tank came to me well established and had it on the Nano tank section, so officially never been on the New Members section when I joined to say hi. So Hi:thumbup:

Well its on its way to me here after working on this project since March this year. So probably the first in SA, so quite stoked about it. Gonna keep all posted with some awesome pics when it arrives. I Know I started my thread quite early on this tank as I should only receive it in about 4-5 weeks, but could not keep it a secret any longer, its been long enough and I just wanted to make sure it has left and on its way to me

This is my first setup starting from scratch as my nano was already an existing setup and just carried it on. So pretty new when it comes to setting up a tank from scratch, but am sure I’m in great hands with you guys giving great advice. So Will keep you all in suspense till it arrives;)

Interesting, I think I wonder if this is the same tank I saw at the expo.
Looking forward to seeing some pics of it.

VERY NICE! Beautiful tanks, I have a RSM 250 and it has a few flaws, but I think the new generation have had the bugs fixed. They are a bit pricey, I have seen what they cost:eek:
    Can't wait for the pics!

My best advice is just PATIENCE, then get to know the livestock you can keep (READ, RESEARCH, ASK), remember (with the risk of anthropomorphising animals), it is a SMALL home away from home.
Can't wait to see what you do with the tank, it's going to be so great, I'll be in Durban in October, I think I should pop in!:;):whistling:

Trying to organise getting my live rock ready. Any particular type should go for. Probably will need
80 -100 kg. And then will get some Caribsea about 40kg should do, any ideas on sizing for this , i also like the white look, and should it be arag-alive or just plain dry aragonite

I would buy your rock dead, adding live rock to your system could mean you might end up introducing some unwanted critters. As far as aragonite, you can get some caribsea fine, but mix in some of the coarser stuff, it will prevent water moving it too much!
