So i downgraded to a red sea max 250. Ive lost almost all coral and fish, think it was the container that maybe was leeching something. I started with cleaning the tank and discover that only the skimmerpump was still original. The tank did not have the hood anymore. I hanged my zetlight zt6600 over the tank and replaced all three pumps with dc pumps and now i can hear only the water in the tank. The return pumps i went with a sobo sf 2000 and a sobo sf3000 the skimmer i got a coral box dc pump from hotdogg and modify it to fit which was easy. There is a chiller hailea a 300 connected as well as a aqua mini auto topup. I have some algae issues at the moment.

Hi Sharktail,

I had something that looked liked dino's, but I think it ended up being diatoms, so no 1st hand experienced on this topic. However, at the point I thought it was dino's I did do some research and also followed inappropriate reefer with his battle - might be worth looking into that?

In a nutshell (if memory serves), he increased his PO4 and NO3 to detectable levels by directly dosing PO4 and NO3. He also dosed bacteria additives. Finally also dosed silicates. The idea behind this approach was for other algae and organisms to out compete the dino's

Its brown slimy strings and then micro bubbles attached to it
