    Hi

I intend to have multiple frags in the shop and other great news for hobbyists BUT this is not about that.

This thread is about a specific coral I imported specifically to frag.
It landed this week and This is the mother colony!!!

I fel in love with the contrasting colours when the suppliers sent me the picture.

Cant wait for it to settle in and be ready for fragging :p

Looks more like Echinophyllia to me, aka Chalice coral?

Get your staff to video you when you do frag it. Not many people have seen this been done. Most videos ive seen use an expensive band saw

I am a lazy bastard - I throw them on the floor and pick up the pieces ;)

But seriously although you can do it like that, I use cheap tools and everyone can do it. Perhaps I must invite you guys and make it a demo as well.

I have got 5 to 8 corals I need to frag later in November.

Video should be mandatory  ?

That seem like a enticing invitation @CheriS ......

I did do it once .... by mistake. I dropped a calic on the floor and all the "frags" that had at-least ONE complete mouth survived!!!

    BUT

That was by accident and I respect life (even those of corals) so treating them like that on purpose is not on for me.

Still a valuable lesson was learned. Corals, like so many other things in life, can be slippery bastards ;)
