I finally got my tank up and running again!
Its not the normal tank you see on this site, i run it at 22 degrees celcius and am going for a east coast rock pool type look. Everything you see in the tnak i collected around the Port Elizabeth area (dont worry, all my permits are in order).
    The tank is 1300X50X65 (L X W X H).
this is a shot of one outcrop on the right side of the tank

My much prized urchin....in the past has killed two of my octopus

A close up of a crab i found. Not sure what species it is.

Really need to go and get some fish, only have one zebra at the moment.

i bought it. Its a piece of artificial fibre glass rock used in koi ponds. It weighs nothing and covers the whole back of the tank...just got to wait for it to be colonised by algae.

still got my diy protein skimmer. it works a lot better than i origionally thought it would. It looks like a piece of old lab equipment, but it does the job.

The fibre glass rock is really cool, and you can get in in tons of different shapes/colours. Only prob is its a bit expensive

Unfortunately left the tank in the hands on a non-reefer over a december holiday and came back to a disaster. Only inhabitant from the pics that is still alive is the urchin (though it has bee nmoved to the sump due to its bulldozing habits).
Tank looks very different now. Added alot more liverock and went for a soft coral dominated tank.
Will start a thread in the new year.
