intersting glad to see someone still trying to pioneer a ahilide reflector despite all the setbacks.... keep going i may try follow....

Guy's I do not know anything about MH reflectors but surly there is a company that make's these the way you want?

will this reflector require a UV shield?

It is not the reflector that dictates if you need a UV shield or not. It is the lamp. Most single ended lamps do not need. Most DE lamps do need.

Don't take the chance, Single ended have a special glass that reduces UV dramatically.

With double ended you produce 100% uv so then you need coverglass.
