    Heya

Guess what, back at setting up a tank again... I sold my 1.5m early in the year after getting rather bored with it. After setting up a 3ft Tropical for 2months just to keep me busy until after my wedding in November this year, I got bored with it and ended up buying a tank that has a bit of history from a friend.

This history with this tank is I helped a friend set it it up a few years ago. She then wanted to down size to a Boyu 550 and my friend bought it from her. I got bored with my 1.5m, which my friend OD bought from me and then I bought this one from him that I will now setup and keep me busy until after my wedding where my wife and I then plan to setup a 1.5m x 1m x 700mm in 2013 sometime. [IMG]

    Dimnesions are:
    Tank – L 930mm X H 530mm X D 400mm
    Sump – L 900mm X H 385mm X D320mm with 3 compartments
curretly but adding in buble traps.
Stand – L 1030mm X H 1570mm X D430mm and mounted on wheels Best part of system, it can be moved easily... hehe)

Here is a pic of the tank and one of it where it will be setup next to my boets 1.5m Reef Setup:

I luckily still have all my old equipment and old LR rock I dried out that I can use so this setup should not cost too much to get it up and running.

I have already taken out the corner overflow and going to be drilling in a 50mm overflow.

Stand was stripped so that I can sand it and repaint it with Hammerite.

Sump - I added a bubble trap, keeping sump simple.
Tank - The old overflow hole in base has been sealed. Tank connector fitted for new overflow. Filled with water and no leaks....

Last night I got tank into stand and fitted my main light quick. I am house sitting for the rest of this week, so will only be able to carry on with tank next week again.

    Main light is a 70W 10000K MH. I will still add 2 x 39W T5 actinics that I have next week. I have 1 x 39W T5 10000k for the sump area.

    Looking good.
Get yourself some ABS plastic sheeting from Maizey plastics for a background, black .9mm thick.

I was able to work a bit on the tank again last night.
Got the background fitted. Overflow pipe is done. Fitted all the lights and fitted a board on the back of the tank to mount the MH ballast on and the multiplug..

    Some Pics.

My boet thought he would get some fish in so long [IMG]

Looks good. Your electrics look like they are right below your overflow pipe, any leaks may drip straight onto it, may be worth moving it over to the left a little?

Dankie TigerEye... The force is strong... LOL

ScottK... I did realise that when I looked at it the next day... I finished up with that late in the evening. I will still move the multiplug over.

A little update.. Last night I did leak test and it was quite successful.
I got some sand washed and in tank. Got out my dead rock and got it in drum with water to rinse it. So by the end of this weekend the cycle begins.

Tank is finally fulla water, rock in and scaped. Got some carbon in sump to try clear up water a bit, even though I rinsed my old rock well, still seems to be making water yellow.

    Hi

Small update. Got some algae starting. Seems the adding of two pieces of Indo LR has helped kick start things. Still need to test parameters sometime.

Time for long over due update:

Tank seems to have settled nicely. Was able to bring back quite a few hermits and snails from the coast after honeymoon.

Since last update I have lost my Scopa, Atlantic Blue Tang and B&W Clowns.

    Stock list now is:

    1 x Small Regal
    2 x Clownfish
    2 x Firegoby's
    1 x Banana Wrasse
    1 x Iridis Wrasse
    5 x Local gobies
    Lots of hermits and snails.
    1 x Urchin
    1 x Orange Star

I haven't taken pics but atleast got a video clip. Video does not do tank justice.

So this thread has come to an end.... I shut down this tank a few weekends ago. Sold tank.
Have equipment to sell soon. But I have not left the hobby.... Boet still has his tank and still have a nano running at parents place. Got big plans for a nice big tank probably later in 2014...
